It’s A Family Affair
Each Barrel in the Pilates studio carries a distinct purpose — to meet the spine, open the chest, lengthen the line, and restore balance. In this workshop, you’ll experience how these curved forms become allies in developing intelligent strength and supple control throughout the body.
You’ll learn to use the Ladder Barrel for deep articulation, back extension, and spinal mobility; to work with the Small and Spine Correctors to awaken the abdominals and restore symmetry; and to connect the Barrels to the Reformer and Mat systems for cohesive progression. The session will also refine your cueing and spotting to bring safety, clarity, and flow to your client’s movement.
By understanding how to sequence and scale the Barrel work, you’ll learn to translate curvature into confidence — helping clients find length where there’s compression, and control where there’s collapse. Expect to leave with a renewed appreciation for the Barrels as the bridge between Mat and advanced apparatus, and a fresh perspective on how to guide the body back into its natural, supported arc.
