A powerful apparatus that reveals depth, precision, and organisation in the body.
A powerful apparatus that reveals depth, precision, and organisation in the body. Work with the Guillotine and translate its principles across the studio.
In this workshop, we explore the Guillotine within the Classical Method — not as an isolated piece of equipment. You do not need a Guillotine to attend; working with it here will offer insight that carries across the entire studio.
Through its unique combination of spring resistance and gravity, the Guillotine creates space, challenges organisation, and demands clarity through the hips, spine, and shoulder girdle.
It offers a direct pathway into deeper openings while requiring control, precision, and timing.
You will work through key exercises that develop mobility, strength, and connection, refining your ability to observe and guide the body within a more demanding environment.
Beyond the apparatus itself, we explore how these principles translate into the Reformer, Cadillac, Ped-o-Pul, and Wall Unit. The aim is not dependence on the Guillotine, but a deeper understanding of the Method it reveals.
